Main Research Interest: Gays and lesbians in the Canadian military

Under the supervision of Carmen Poulin and Lynne Gouliquer, I have completed a basic research project and an undergraduate thesis. The basic research project examined the effect of the military's former official discrimination against lesbian service members and the resulting social, physical, and psychological health consequences of that experience. My undergraduate thesis entitled, "A Soldier’s Soldier? Partners of Canadian lesbian military members", explores the experiences of partners of lesbian military service members.

In addition to completing my Bachelor (Hons.) in psychology at UNB with Dr. Poulin and participating in her weekly research group meetings, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work as her research assistant.

Beginning in September 2008, I will be attending graduate school with the aims of completing both an M.A. and PhD in counseling psychology and conducting research on topics relating to positive psychology. I hope that throughout it all I may continue to indulge my love of traveling and visit Tanzania to climb to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and bicycle through Cambodia and Laos.
