Travel Information

VENUE

PST 2012 will take place at TELECOM ParisTech (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications - Paris). TELECOM ParisTech is located in the southern part of Paris, in the "Butte aux Cailles" (hill of quails) district. "Butte aux Cailles" is a historical district and the third highest hill in Paris. The area has a "village" atmosphere with a pedestrian quarter and many pubs and restaurants. TELECOM ParisTech is also 15 minutes walk from China Town and 15 minutes by bus (line 21) from the Latin Quarter.

Full address: TELECOM ParisTech - 46, Rue Barrault 75013, Paris - France.

How to reach TELECOM ParisTech

There are two International Airports that serve Paris: Orly (ORY) and Charles de Gaulle Roissy (CDG). Both airports are equivalent with regard to getting to and from the conference site, so this should not be a deciding factor for which airline to choose. Paris has also many train connections to major European cities. Train schedules can be consulted at the SNCF ( French railway company ) web server or directly at the SNCF High Speed Trains web server.

TELECOM ParisTech is within 7 minutes walk from the "CORVISART" Metro station (on line 6). The Metro system and the RER (suburban commuter that reaches airports) are interconnected; you can travel from one system to the other with the same ticket. However, while any trip on the metro system costs one ticket, the price of the trip on the RER system depends on the distance covered. More about RER, Metro and Bus transportation in Paris can be found in RATP ( Parisian Metro company ).

Reaching TELECOM ParisTech from Charles de Gaulle Roissy airport:

- Depending on your Terminal of arrival (1, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2F, or 3), you may walk to the RER (suburban train) station or you may need to take a free bus shuttle.

Buy an RER ticket to Paris-section-urbaine (metro ticket included). It costs 8.40 euros.

Take the RER B. Get off at station "DENFERT-ROCHEREAU", then take metro line 6, towards "NATION", and get off at "CORVISART" station.

TELECOM ParisTech is within 7 minutes walk from there ( see map ).

The RER trip between the airport and TELECOM ParisTech takes about an hour.

- Taxi from Charles de Gaulle to TELECOM ParisTech is about 50 euros on the meter (there may be some small additional charge for luggage).

Reaching TELECOM ParisTech from Orly airport:

- Take ORLYBUS towards "DENFERT-ROCHEREAU", get off at "RENE COTY" station. Then it's a 10 minutes walk to TELECOM ParisTech, or you may take Bus 62 on Alesia street.

- Taxi from Orly to TELECOM ParisTech is about 25-30 euros on the meter (there may be some small additional charge for luggage).

CURRENCY
