Before joining academia full-time, I have served in various management and leadership positions in different European business organizations. Subsequently, I have worked as a project management and leadership consultant and coach in Canadian and European settings with global technology and service organizations to help develop senior project managers and leaders. I also serve as a member of the Academic Teaching Faculty for the Center for Innovative Management, University of Athabasca (Faculty of Business Administration, MBA and DBA programs.

In addition to my graduate degrees in computer science and adult education, I have a PhD in theology (church history) and a MA in history. I am particularly interested in leadership and project management education in practice and theory in the context of futures studies and foresight, as well as in their historical development and philosophical underpinnings. In my scholarly and practical work, I currently focus on exploring what a concept of leadership for the future might look like and on leadership learning online:

  • Academic teaching at all levels and across many particular areas of leadership and project management education
  • Project Management Training, Project Management consulting and implementation, self leadership and leadership development and consulting
  • Qualified to administer various personality profiles
  • Fellow of the Project Management Research Institute, Athabasca University
  • Recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI) for dedicated efforts in researching the value of project management (Co-Investigator in multi-million dollar research project, funded by PMI and other organizations)
  • Joint project management research projects collaborating with government and private business organizations in Canada and Germany
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) designation through the Project Management Institute (PMI) 2002-2018
  • Published broadly in areas of leadership education, futures-studies education, project management education, project management implementation (peer reviewed academic journals as well as professional journals)
  • External assessor for review of leadership education programs
  • Supervised PhD research on interdisciplinary leadership studies. I have also published research papers and systematic reviews on project management implementation in interdisciplinary and international peer reviewed journals.
