Sexual Well-being in
Relationships in Canada, Portugal, and the Netherlands
I
am currently collaborating with Patrícia
Pascoal (University of Lisbon)
and Dr. Ellen Laan (Amsterdam Medical Centre, University of Amsterdam)
on a
project investigating the extent to which satisfaction
with specific aspects of the romantic relationship is
related to sexual well-being for
individuals in a committed romantic relationship, including
sexual satisfaction, sexual problems, and/or sexual distress.
Because we are particularly
interested in similarities and differences in these and other
relationships
across cultures, we are collecting data in Portugal, the Netherlands,
and
Canada.
We have completed in the data collection phase.
Our participants included:
189 male and 376 English-speaking individuals; 368 male and 361 female
Portuguese-speaking individuals, and, 67 male and 252 female
Dutch-speaking individuals.
We are currently preparing a manuscript based on these data.
