Dr. Holly Johnson, Associate Professor, Department of Criminology and Senior Research Associate at the Institute for the Prevention of Crime at the University of Ottawa, has more than 20 years experience conducting quantitative research in the field of victimization and violence against women. She was Principal Investigator for Statistics Canada’s National Violence Against Women Survey and author of numerous publications on this topic. Her works span many international networks, including co-investigator of the International Violence Against Women Survey; expert advisor on data and statistics to the UN Secretary-General’s study on violence against women; advisor to the World Health Organization on primary prevention of sexual violence and intimate partner violence; member of the UNECE Task Force on Violence Against Women Surveys; and, advisor to the UNECE on indicators on violence against women.
