Dr. Margaret Jackson is presently a Professor in the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University, and Co-Director, Simon Fraser University Institute for Studies in Criminal Justice Policy, as well as Director of the Feminist Research, Education, Development and Action Centre (FREDA), the SFU centre undertaking research on violence against women and children. She was previously Principal Investigator for a Ministry of Justice study on child abuse and has been involved in most Alliance of Canadian Research Centres on violence research projects. Other research areas of interest include criminal justice policy analysis, bullying and cyberbullying, and sociocultural factors impacting girls' experiences of violence in their lives.
