English Language Requirement

All International applicants whose mother tongue is not English must provide proof of proficiency in the English language. Such applicants are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in which a minimum score of 550 is required and also the Test of Written English (TWE) in which a minimum score of 4.0 must be attained. English tests such as the British Council English Language Test (ELTS - minimum score of band 7), the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB - minimum score of 85) and the Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTest - minimum score of 4.5) are also acceptable for demonstrating English proficiency.

The School of Graduate Studies will not issue a certificate of acceptance until the English requirement has been fulfilled.
