Farewell to Alfred and Yola

Photos by Dave Wells, 27 May 1997

Yola Georgiadou (with her back to the camera) being given a GGE lapel pin by acting chair James Secord, while Alfred looks on. When taking possession of her farewell gift, Yola adamantly refused to face the camera. However, we got her in the next photo!

Yola, and Peter Pearce attempting to make Alfred comfortable.

With solemn countenance and words of gloom about the state of the department's finances, acting chair James handed Alfred the plaque that should have been attached to a lovely UNB Windsor Chair. Unfortunately, Alfred was told, the $18.00 plaque was all that could be afforded.

Alfred, while pausing in his words of thanks to the crowd, ponders the mouse that was eating his shoes. Actually he was gazing in awe at the UNB logo infested Windsor chair that the Department had been able to afford after all.

The plaque.
