2. Approval of the minutes of 21st May 2002 Meeting

S. Pagiatakis initiative to invite people not participating in CGU (suggestion by P. Vanicek). S. Pagiatakis requests that membership suggests new members.
S. Pagiatakis mentions that short courses have been cancelled. He requests that new courses should be suggested. He mentions course on gravity interpretation.
S. Pagiatakis mentions that a more formal call for the PGI and IGS. IAG president F. Sanso.
P. Vanicek recommended SST Workshop.
Web site been maintained. Please, send material.
CGU Newsletter to be used for communication until the GS has its own.
Plenary session to have a speaker from geodesy.
CGU has funds to GS invite speakers ($500.00 per speaker). We should try to use it.
CNC for IUGG met yesterday in preparation for next IUGG Meeting in Sapporo, Japan. GS Executive got some indications, and after a voting process, M. Santos was elected as the new Junior Canadian representative for IAG.
Institutions must submit Quadrienial reports to be added to IUGG. Details on what should be sent are available at CGU website. P. Vanicek asks if GS has corresponding members at Universities. S. Pagiatakis answers that he has contacting department chairs (except for Laval, which he contacts R. Santerre). N. Sneew asks about the deadline, end of the month. P. Vanicek asks when this request was sent, sent some months ago.
S. Pagiatakis says that GEOIDE has opened its phase III funding, and encourages
M. Santos reports about the GS home page, which is up and running.
Also, he mentions the difficulty in having an updated e-mail list.
M. Sideris suggests that a contact with Josef Adam, from Budapest, be made in order to have a link with IAG home page.
S. Pagiatakis reports on behalf of R. Blais. An GS account is to be opened and CGU will be asked to transfer money to this new account.
To be held on Wednesday. S. Pagiatakis confirms participation of K. Thompson, M. Foreman, M. Veronneau and N. Sneew.
There will be a larger participation including members from the GEOIDE Project ACQ#SID.
M. Veronneau says that the only change in the agenda is that D. Peltier will be replaced by one of his post-doc fellows.
Students automatically participate in the CGU student award. GS will be following the same criteria used by CGU. Both extended abstracts and oral/poster presentation will be evaluated. P. Vanicek asks if a same criterion applies to poster presentations.
M. Santos asks for suggestions from membership for the next student paper competition.
